Although the extra work needed to develop and test HighDesign on both the ARM and the x86 architectures added some more weeks to the final R6 release, we’re very pleased with the work done for this update. With the announcement of the new Macs on November 10th, we at ILEXSOFT decided to make supporting the new platform a priority. CAD and architecture design require big computational power, and these new Apple Silicon chips, along with the latest Intel and AMD chips, are a good platform. This is a particularly good news for the Mac and for the architecture, engineering and construction professionals, who can now consider powerful and reasonably accessible new computers for the heavy work of drafting and design. Having worked every day on a new M1 Mac for some months, we can say that the press hype is well justified: the machine is really fast, even compared to a same level i7 Mac. That is case with the new Apple Silicon M1 chip. Once in a while a technological innovation changes the game in the software industry. aucl on Happy New Year (and Next Release).Ilexsoft on Happy New Year (and Next Release).Ilexsoft on HighDesign R6 with Apple Silicon Support.aucl on HighDesign R6 with Apple Silicon Support.HighDesign R6.1 Adds New Graphics Features, macOS Monterey Support.Tutorial: Adding Hatches and Textures to the Project.
